Tax Office

Bacon County tax matters are handled by either the Bacon County Board of Tax Assessors or the Bacon County Tax Commissioner’s office. The Board of Assessors determines property values and assessments, and the Tax Commissioner’s Office collects the property taxes due.

Board of Tax Assessors

The Bacon County Board of Tax Assessors notifies taxpayers when changes are made to the value of property; they receive and review all appeals and approve claimed exemptions.

Taxpayers are required to file at least an initial tax return for taxable property between January 1 and April 1 of each year. Filing forms are available from the Tax Assessor's Office.

The Bacon County Board of Tax Assessors is appointed for fixed terms by county commissioners.

Tax Commissioner's Office

County and county school ad valorem taxes are collected by the Bacon County Tax Commissioner. Tax payments can be made online.
